The Outpatient Clinic “Intercultural Psychosocial Support - Immigrants, Refugees and Stateless Persons” (Proex Code: 27988) is an Extension project and an optional internship within the Psychiatry Medical Residency Program III of the Psychiatry Department at UNIFESP. It focuses on promoting mental health and preventing illness in people living across cultural borders due to being immigrants, refugees, or stateless persons in Brazil, based on the theory of intercultural psychology. It is structured around the pillars of extension, assistance, teaching, and research, through individual consultations and related supervision, training spaces, and support for the network. This project began in 2024 with Professor Carmen Santana and resident psychiatrist Nicolle Ramponi. It is directly linked to the Intercultural Psychosocial Support Project. The services are provided at the Integrated Mental Health Care Center - CAISM (UNIFESP/SPDM).
